Leeton crash case in court

PROSECUTORS have been given more time to prepare a brief of evidence against a man charged with two counts of dangerous driving occasioning death.

Bowden Barker, 19, was charged the same day a utilityleftPetersham Road at Leeton, rolled several times and came to rest in a full irrigation channel about 12.30am on December 5.

Two passengers–21-year-old Leeton man Jake Isbisterand 17-year-old Cootamundra girl Chloe Hardy –died at the scene.

An 18-year-old Leeton man believed to have been travelling in the ute’s tray suffered head injuries.

Barker’s case was mentioned in Leeton Local Court on March 6.

The case was adjourned to the April 15 sittings of Griffith Local Court.

Barker, who has also been charged with dangerous driving occasioning actual bodily harm in relation to the injured man, has yet to enter pleas to all threecharges.

He is on bail.

It is believed the group was on its way to a camping site at the time of the crash.
